Subscribing to Mindfulness?

Mindfulness is the “ability to see with clarity, free from habitual ways of thinking and reacting.”

This can be achieved by implementing various activities into a daily routine to draw attention to this way of creative and clear thinking. Mindfulness also helps to: cope with challenges, manage stress, and build resilience and emotional intelligence.


One interesting aspect of a product that promotes mindfulness, is the ability to implement new rituals and routines into everyday life. I mostly relate this part of mindfulness to the idea of self care. Products that I believe fall into this category could be, bath items, candles, essential oils, face and body scrubs and lotion and many more. Purchasing these items to incorporate into your day-to-day will most likely form new routines, but taking a look at subscription services that will consistently introduce like products into the buyers life is an interesting routine in itself.


The company, Merkaela, has a subscription service for this exact type of mindfulness product. The box sets can include, soaps, bath scrubs and salts, body lotions, face masks and more.

As a mindfulness product to promote ritual, the fact that it can be a quarterly subscription service just adds to the routine of use. Normally, these products can be bought, used regularly, and then bought again. However, there is that chance that these rituals will just be completely dropped once the product runs out. A subscription service allows the buyer to make one purchase without having to think about what may happen when they run out of their new favorite clay mask.

Purchasing box sets of products that fall into this mindfulness/self care category also promote that ritual building. When given the option to choose which products you buy from a set, it helps the buyer to experiment and find what works best for them. Similarly to a subscription service, the buyer is most likely introduced to new products, but in this case the buyer is allowed to choose exactly what they may like instead of running into that possibility of having a set of products that they only want one thing out of.

Self care products are highly personal. Everyone will have a different experience with different items of this type. At the end of the day, the ability to bring these products into a daily routine will bring a new way of life to the buyer, and hopefully introduce positive, life improving rituals to the every day.

I would get subscription so I have a present every month. That`s the ritual for me 👍 All this packaging looks soooo zennn 🧘‍♀️ Visual appearance definitely helps the ritual/ habit to stick around.

I really like that the customer gets to choose exactly what they want in their subscription box. This totally helps set a ritual when the user has the ability to continue their routine!

I agree, when I think of mindfulness the first things that come to mind are daily habits/rituals, and self care involving skincare, physical and mental well-being. Many self care products are very personal like you mentioned and it really comes down to user's preference and experience. But of course, by incorporating the use of these kinds of products in our day to day life, it would definitely benefit us.
